The Biggest Brag of All

You can see the big smile on Bebe-sitter Genie's (right) face, so proud of her charge's achievement - well that was nothing to the smile when she learned that Bebe would be graduating from occasional guest to permanent resident in the Hurme household.

Mind you, Bebe was pretty darn pleased with the arrangment as well.

Loving a dog enough to let them go to a home where they can truly be all that they can be is the most unselfish love but also the toughest.

Kudos to Amanda and congratulations to Bebe and Genie - a wonderful match if ever I saw one

Not Just a Title

Bebe completed her AKC Rally Novice Title with qualifying runs at the Champlain Valley Kennel Club (July 17, 2010) and Green Mountain Dog Club (July 18, 2010) trials.
Judges were Carole Artim and Stephanie Podejko.
This was more than just a title to Amanda. In her words:

"Bebe's title is extra special as she is such a soft dog. Corrections either flatten her mentally or make her check out. She also has had to overcome me; when she was a pup, I showed her a little as she grew up. This was also when Peter my Canaan Dog was so sick, and Bebe missed out more than I realized. When she did grow up physically, I went to show her in breed. I figured since she was 2 years old, and one of my dogs, she knew what to do. It took 6 months of her going "you never taught me what to do" before I got it (she blew me off one day, went in and got a 3 point major the next day, showing happily and beautifully for a friend). It has taken a LONG long time for us to get a happy, confident connection in the breed ring (she has 13 points and a major and I didn't handle her to any of those points) but she did beautifully for me in Brood Bitch at the National this year and one day in Saratoga over the winter. Turns out, when I went to start doing obedience with her, she still had some of that mistrust of what I was going to expect her to do and how much I was going to push her. So, when that Q went up on the board after her Rally run on Sunday, I will admit I was crying as I hugged and hugged and hugged Bebe. The sentiments in the poem "What Is A Title, Really?" resonated long and strong on the 18th - and have continued to do so."

2010 BTCA National Specialty Successes - Tryon NC - May 12-16

Bebe qualified at her first Rally Novice B attempt (judge Carol Mett) and was also 4th in Brood Bitch under breeder judge, Robert Naun

Nicely done.....

....for two more points!
Bebe was Winners Bitch and Best Opposite Sex (over a special) on Saturday, 9 Dec 2006, at the Eastern Dog Club Show in Boston under judge, Michael Dougherty (no known relation to Mark and Michele)

Major Accomplishment

Bebe was BOW for her first major on Sunday, November 12, 2006 in Fitchburg MA (Southhegan KC) under Mrs. K Grosso.
It wasn't a simple major - she was BOW over the WD who was BOS over 2 dog specials. That took the dog pts up from 2 pts to 3, and then gave Bebe the major too! Of course, no one went in the ring thinking about that - Mrs. Grosso had to point it out to everyone! :>)

Progressing Nicely.....

Bebe picked up 2 more points on the September 30, 2006 at the Kanadasaga KC going WB/BOS under Judge John David Hughes.

Baby Bebe Steps ...she's pointed and "CHIC"

Bebe picked up her first US point going Winners Bitch at the Glens falls KC Show on August 10, 2006 - she then went on to Best of Winners and Best of Breed under Judge George Heitzman!
She picked up three more points by consistently taking Winners Bitch and Best of Breed the following three days at the Mohawk Valley KC, So Adirondack Dog Club and Bennington Co KC shows under judges Mrs. Knowlton A Reynders, Mrs. Grace Moran and Mr. Edward Hass respectively.

This followed another important achievement (attainable by all dogs with their owners help) - the completion of the health certifications for her CHIC #

She's a Good Citizen

Bebe celebrated her second (first with Amanda) BTCA National Specialty by passing her CGC test on June 8th, 2006
