Advancing to Excellence

On September, 12, 2011 Tumnus completed the requirements for his AKC Rally Advanced Excellent title at the Pontiac Kennel Club under judge Lynn Eggers with a 96 and third place in Excellent and 98 and second place in Advanced.

Nine down, one to go

On July, 12, 2011 Tumnus and Philipa competed in Rally at Ann Arbor KC in Monroe, MI earning Leg # 9 for Rally Advanced/Excellent.
The judge was Alvin W. Eng
Tumnus placed 4th in Excellent and 3rd in Advanced.

Rally Advanced Excellent in Sight

On March 18, 2011 at the Fulton County OH KC Trials, Tumnus received qualifying scores of 93, in Rally Excellent and Advanced. Thus gaining leg # 8 for his RAE.

Holy Toledo! Another Title

The Toledo Kennel Club certainly agrees with Mr. Tumnus, at their obedience trials on February 13, 2011 he qualified, under Judge Fred Buroff, to complete the requirements for his American CDX title.

Another RAE Success

A return visit to the Toledo Kennel Club Trials on February 11, 2011 gave Tumnus his sixth RAE leg.
In Rally Excellent, he had a qualifying score of 94.
In Rally advanced, his score was 97, giving him 4th place only 7 seconds behind 2nd place.
Judge for both trials was Fred Buroff

Meanwhile, back in AKC

November 27-28, 2010 at the Toledo Kennel Club Trials, Tumnus qualified in Open A under judges John and Carol Mett for two legs towards his CDX title. His scores were a very respectable 185 and 186. Congrats also go to big brother Parker (not a BT) who completed his Rally Novice title thanks to the Canine Partners program.

United Kennel Club success

Sunday, November 21, 2010 at the Bay Area Regional KC Trials, Tumnus finished up two more titles.
Under Judge Sandra Boeke, he was 3rd place in Novice B obedience for his 3rd leg and UKC CD title. He had a very respectable score of 193 despite not getting into the ring until 4 hours after arriving.
After many more hours of waiting he then went in Rally level 1, with judge Keith Boeke. He scored 99 in both trials with a 3rd and 4th place finish.
Those were the 2 legs he needed for his Rally level 1 title.

The course was interesting and combined a lot of elements in a small OUTDOOR ring.
Tumnus and Philipa were 3rd place in Rally Excellent. Score 89
In Rally Advanced, same judge, 1st place, 98.

Advancing in Excellence

On September 23, 2010 at the Springer Spaniel Club of Michigan; under judge Mrs. Sue Sellers Rose, Tumnus earned his first of 10 legs towards the RAE title.
Rally Excellent B. Score: 89. 2nd place.
Rally Advanced B. Score 98. 1st place.

Excelling in Rally

September 19, 2010 at the St. Clair KC trial, Mr. Tumnus gained his Rally Excellent title by winning the Rally Excellent class, with a score of 97. The judge was Mr. Edward Haas who set a very complicated course and was very picky. Mr Haas (also a Terrier judge) really liked Tumnus, and commented that he was an extremely good looking Border Terrier.

Back to Canada and more success

Tumnus took care of his Canadian Rally Novice title in fine style finishing first in his class in two of the three trials at the Sarnia KC Shows on July 4-5, 2010.
Judges were Cheryl Bishop, Deb Desjardine, and Sharlene Manderson

2010 Border Terrier Canada National Specialty Weekend Success - Hamilton Kennel Club Shows Jerseyville ON - June 25-27

Tumnus polished off his Canadian CD in fine style with three straight qualifying scores and Highest Scoring Border Terrier in each trial.

2010 BTCA National Specialty Successes - Tryon NC - May 12-16

Tumnus placed first in Graduate Novice (judge John Mett) and earned his first Rally Excellent Leg with 3rd place (judge Carol Mett) on Thursday.
On Saturday, he was second in the Amateur Owner Handled class under breeder judge Bob Naun

Another title under his pelt!!

Tumnus finished his Rally Advanced title on Friday, April 9th, 2010 at the Saginaw Valley Kennel Club under judge Mrs. Betsy Horn Humer

Make that another title even further on its way and yet another one done!

Tumnus earned his 2nd leg in Rally Advanced, on March 26, 2010 at the Companion Dog Training Club of Flint under judge Fred Buroff then on Sunday qualified in Novice B obedience to complete his AKC Companion Dog title also under judge Fred Buroff

Another title done and another on its way!

Tumnus earned his 3rd Rally Novice leg, on Friday February 26, 2010 at the Sportsmen's Dog Training Club with a score of 100 points and a 3rd place finish (4 seconds slower than 1st place), the Judge was Ms. Lynne Oslach.
Philipa moved him up up on Saturday, and despite it being his first time off leash in Rally Competition, they had an excellent score of 99 points and their first Rally Advanced leg.

A Very Nice Weekend

Tumnus acquitted himself very nicely at the Ingham County Kennel Club shows on November 28-29, 2009. On Saturday he qualified with a score of 190 and a fourth place finish in Novice B (judge Mr. Jeffrey B. Showman) for his second CD leg.

On Sunday he was Winners Dog for one point under judge Ms. Kim Ramey-LeBlanc.

2009 BTCA Specialty Achievements - September 27-October 01, 2009 - Centreville, MD

Tumnus made a noticeable Specialty debut winning his Sweepstakes Class (12-15mths) and then going Best of Opposite Sex to Best Senior Puppy in Sweeps under breeder judge, Kathy Robinson

Tumnus also looked good with Philipa in the Amateur Handler Class and made the final cut in Best Otterhead (Judge Arthur Cuthbertson) Besides his successes, Tumnus had "fun" in Earthdog and regular Obedience. Sadly he missed his turn in Rally because he was busy in the Sweepstakes Ring

Busy behind the scenes

Philipa and Tumnus took time out from Specialty packing to go to the Monroe Kennel Club show on September 25, 2009.
The quick trip was well worth it as Tumnus was 3rd in Novice B Obedience (judge Bernie G. Brown) with as core of 194 1/2 and 2nd in Rally Novice B (Judge: Mrs. Kathleen A. Cook) with a score of 189.

Rally Success

Tumnus won the Rally Novice B class at Pontiac Kennel Club Show, (beat 9 dogs) with a score of 98/100 on September 06, 2009 for the first leg towards his RN Title.

We just returned from Sportsmen's Dog Training Club (June 24, 2009)
. Tumnus passed the CGC test, with flying colors, I am so proud of him!
He did not whine once during the 3 minute out of sight test.
Mr. Tumnus will make a donation to Border Terrier Rescue to celebrate his first title.
