Out and About and "Pupdates" - August 2003

As any of you who have been following "Upcoming Events"know, Jocelyne and I met up with Isobel and Gordie to attend the Border Terrier Club of Ontario - CKC Earthdog Sanction Test, the first event of this kind in Canada. Well, it was a "blast"!

On the way down we stopped at the 1000 Islands Parkway for a picnic lunch

Which saw the BT's munching on cheese, peppers, carrots, and goose droppings!!!
After a relatively uneventful trip down (despite the power outages and questionable gas availability) and stopping in at the Test site to make certain everything was "hunk dory" - we arrived at Isobel's and introduced the latest BT additions to Gordie!

"If I close my eyes that puppy thing will cease to exist!"

"See - it worked"
Gordie - once more in charge of his domain

"Let me out of here - I promise I'll never bark at a big dog again!"

"The very first CKC Earthdog Sanction Test"

Seizing the occasion to promote the 2004 BTCA Specialty and Canadian Border Terrier Welfare

All in all a well run event

On the way home, we stayed overnight at the Spotted Dog B&B in Madoc (dog friendly and recommended) and then continued along scenic Route 7 before calling in at Fred & Marnie's for breakfast.

Silver Lake just after dawn

Can you hear the Loons?

"We can! Anyone for loon wings?"

"Forget 'Breakfast at Tiffany's' - how about 'breakfast at Marnie's'?

Penny - the "hostess with the mostest"

Arguing over the plates? - Who's washing, who's wiping?

Just one week later, Jacqueline and I met up with Jenny, Barb, Chris, JoAnn, Marg and Amanda's Indy at the Lackawanna AKC Earthdog Tests near Scranton PA. Beautiful weather, great site, excellent organization and wonderful company all made for a memorable weekend.

Barb's Midge - in her underwear but still looking good

Jenny's Daisy - coming together

JoAnn's Motor Home and Jean's Tent Trailer

Scrimmage and Gelsey - taking the sun

"To heck with the ribbon - I've got my toy!" Tristan celebrating his second SE leg!

Another flashback from Tony and Beth, this one to their June Vacation in the Okanagan area of BC

Settling down for an evening by the campfire - hope Tony and Beth will be comfortable - wherever they are!!

"OK! We've found the Blasted Church Vineyard, now where's the blasted wine?"

Blasted Church Vineyard is the actual name of the vineyard. Many years ago a decision was made to move a small nearby church from one location to another. In order to loosen the nails in the wooden church prior to dismantling it for the move, a small dynamite charge was used, hence Blasted Church.
