November! - what happened to September and October?

A good question - the answer is best summed up with "here, there and everywhere" - mostly without a camera.

In September, I took Gunter, Boomerang, Zeke and Geordie with me to the Wine Country circuit of dog shows in Sampson State Park, New York. My first visit since 1998,I had forgotten just how great it was. Beautiful site, fantastic concessions, superb lure coursing, friendly people and totally unpredictable weather. Gunter showed nicely but did not get any closer to finishing his Championship.

October's highlight was the breeding between Roger and Scrimmage - not so much an event as an incredible saga that we hope Anna will write about one day.

Also in October, I took Gunter, Geordie and Archie to the Albany/Troy shows hoping to put a point or two on Gunter - "Best laid plans of mice and men!". Archie came home with two points and Gunter... well he came home!

Undaunted, we headed to Pennsylvania for a show on Halloween. What can I say, beautiful countryside, incredible Fall colours, amazingly inexpensive motel, great selection of California wines at very good prices, and yes.... Geordie came home with a point!!!

Stay tuned!!!!

Fortunately, other folks in the JJ group were far more productive than I. Sincere thanks to Barb, Chris, and Deenie for their contributions.
I have also slipped in a photo of Cadet - JoAnn's Dachshund who underwent disc surgery in October. When it comes to working ability and courage, the only difference between a good Dachshund and a good Border is the length of legs, muzzle and ears! Hang in there Cadet!
